Subrata Sen, the mastermind behind the studio, is an award winning filmmaker, journalist, author and a producer. A graduate in Physics from Presidency College, Kolkata, he has always been intrigued by the technology that goes behind the making of a film. He has learnt the techniques of filmmaking first-hand and is the person who actually brought in digital technology in India when he shot the first digital film of India, Nil Nirjone (Vacation Blues), in 2002.

He has made ten films till date, besides doing various successful television projects. He has been a journalist since 1988 and is the author of four novels published by famous publication houses.

Subrata Sen Communications was established as a production company banner in 2004 for producing the television works that came to him. Later, this banner started producing and co-producing features, shorts and Inde films, including films for television.

FILMWALLAH™ was setup in 2012 to facilitate production and post-production of in-house projects. Gradually, its services to outsiders and within three years the studio emerged as one the leading facilities in Eastern India.
